A game of 2 halves cost Albion their place in the last 16 of the county cup. On top for the whole of the first half, Albion will find themselves unlucky not to have been on the scoresheet early after some tight offside calls cost them any real scoring chance. They looked to be the only team on the field for periods passing freely and controlling the game. They had a chance to go 1-0 from the spot after Timmy was brought down by the keepf. Deccy unluckily failed to convert and the game stayed at 0-0. They did go 1-0 up through timmy after some nice work from Japs. Against the run of play Milstreet equalised when a high ball over the top caught out Colm and their striker converted with a lovely finish low left which Walshy managed to get a hand to. 1-1 at half time.
Albion simply didn’t turn up for the second half. Millstreet piled on the pressure but never really created any clear cut chance. Colm unluckily brought down their striker on 80 mins lading to a peno which they converted to make it 2-1. Martin R, Martin El and Deccy all had chances to equalise in the last few mins but their keeper pulled off a few saves to send Milstreet through to the next round.
Team. Walshy, Ger, Conor, Dec, Colm, Martin R, James, Martin el, Japs, Rob O’D (Jamie ’75), Timmy. Sub. Darren.
