De Courcey Albion opened their league account today picking up all 3 points at home to Parkview Celtic. Albion started brightly with some very creative attacking play from Rob Daly & Conan Dillon on the wings. Seamus O’Callaghan was very much albions playmaker as he used open space to the home teams advantage & also opened up play with some fine passing. Albion went 1-0 up on 17mins through new recruit Rob Daly after Conan Dillon split the defence with a pin perfect through ball leaving Daly free to tap the ball to the net.

Five minutes later Albion went 2-0 up with more excellent work from Dillon on the right, the ball once again fed through to John Hipwell who finely finished the move with a well taken goal. Albion looked well on top at this stage with a very confident looking defence. Seamus O’Callaghan struck the inside of the post with a super shot from outside the area almost putting Albion further ahead. Albion did get a 3rd on 30 mins when Jason O’Riordan took a shot which deflected past the Parkview keeper. 3-0 at half time.

Parkview came out with more fire in the 2nd half and took the game to albion in the opening 20 mins and it paid off as a high ball played in went through 2 Albion players and landed at the parkview strikers feet who finished well to cut the defecit to 2 goals. Parkview seemed to dominate after swtiching to a 4-3-3 but soon after, Albion were back on top as Rob Daly hit the bar from a free, almost clipped the post with a shot from a fine run & then had a header brilliantly saved right at the death.

A good display from the home team who looked good on the attack & good under pressure. Albion play St. John Boscos this tuesday evening away from home.
